On Aug 6, 2012, Jamaica celebrated 50 years as an independent nation from Great Britian. Jamaicans all over the diasporaincludung Chicago, IL. marked the 50th anniversary with festive celebrations, meaningful reflections and a renewed commitment to strengthen relations. An upcoming episode of Mystic Vibes TV (airing Fall 2012), will feat. highlights of Chicago’s “Jamaica Day Celebrations” at Daley Center Plaza. Also a look back at Jamaica’s historical heritage milestones and It’s cultural African legacy.
